West Tours is a tour operator located in the popular cruise port of Ísafjörður. West Tours was initially started by a local family in 1993 but is now owned by 60 companies and individuals in the area. The core focus of the company is to provide local expert knowledge and serve as a one-stop shop for the smaller operators of the area. For over 30 years West Tours has been at the forefront building up the tourism industry in the Westfjords region of Iceland. We strive to be the experts in the region rather than offering tours around all of Iceland.

West Tours is an independent company owned first and foremost by the local community with many of our suppliers owning small shares in our company. Although we are a small company which has seen organic growth since our humble start in 1993, we operate a highly professional operation with dedication to customer satisfaction. Each of our team members brings their own set of strengths with some having worked for years within other areas of the cruise industry in Iceland such as port agency and cruise logistics. 

Our offices are located a within a five-minute walk from the Ísafjörður cruise terminal.

As the largest independent tour provider in the Westfjords we have in conjunction with our partners also developed authentic cruise excursion experiences that have delighted cruise passengers for many years. Through our local partners we have by far the largest fleet of buses and boats in the region and can service expedition ships to the largest of cruise ships.

Without a doubt, cruise is king here in Ísafjörður. It can be roughly estimated that around 80% of tourist visiting Ísafjörður are cruise passengers. We are key stakeholders in the region and industry and realize the importance of cruise for the local community and for Iceland in general. We aim to be a champion of the cruise industry in Iceland and hope to shape mutually beneficial future relationships with cruise lines, policy makers with our partners in Cruise Iceland.
